Church, different.

From the beginning, we’ve been about doing things different as a church. Here’s a refreshing and exciting update about our first 6 weeks:
In our short 6 weeks since launch, we’ve been able to give a much needed generous supply of toiletries and snacks to the Bondurant Farrar Schools to meet the needs of kids of all ages. We’ve been able to provide and offer free meals weekly to our community. Already, thanks to our bold and generous body of faith at Be Church, we were able to give several thousand dollars to a local Bondurant family who endured major health issues and hardship. We have been able to bless our community in big ways already! We’ve been able to share Jesus and encourage many people since launch. It’s been our mission to really, truly BE the church in our community. Not merely meeting on Sundays and going about our week alone- but being in community and relationship with one another during the week, actually DOING the things we talk about, learn about, sing about, and read -to point people towards Christ in all of it as we love unconditionally and serve others selflessly. Our success is found in BEING the church - DOING the word, not how many people we’re made up of. We’re making big waves for Jesus already and we couldn’t be more grateful for it. This is exciting. This is great!

This is what Christians living the gospel looks like- and we’ve found so much peace in that.
It’s never been about a building or programming. It’s never been about convenience or checking boxes as “Christians”. The “message” or “sermon” is not some main event or attraction- this isn’t a motivational speech to get you excited for an hour. As a pastor- It’s never been about spending 40 hours in an office every week or having a “church” or “pastoral” degree. None of that matters! Relationships are hard to grow if you never spend time with people and build others up the way God wants us to. People should personally know their teachers, preachers, shepherds and see their authentic example in the community- and if you don’t- please find somewhere else to gather. It’s always been about being “doers of the word” and loving unconditionally, serving selflessly, and giving generously- and ANY of us have the potential through Christ to do that, EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s always been about hearts. The heart of God and the hearts of people. Faith in ACTION- because Jesus CHANGES you. Are we being obedient to Gods word, calling, and commands? Or are we stuck in trying to push our own agendas and worldly goals inside the church? Are you a follower of Jesus or just an enthusiastic admirer of Him?
We’re in this together. It’s a long journey. Discipleship is hard and takes time.
We’re a body of people, a church, who puts their money and resources where their mouth is. We’ve got SO much even with just starting out, after all, it’s a matter of perspective and gratitude- that how could we NOT use what we have to bless and serve others!? Isn’t that what Jesus would DO!?
We’re done with corporate, consumer Christianity. We’re done with trying to stick to some flow or program or “service”- we’re done! This isn’t religion, it’s relationship. It’s real life! This isn’t soft and fluffy, tell you what you want to here “Christianity”. It’s life as the church, as Gods people!! -Set apart for His glory to love and serve as He did!!! We just want to be real, raw, and intentional about getting to the heart of life together by way of Jesus and the Bible- it’s that simple. We don’t need to over-complicate things.
It’s important that you know who we are and WHY we do things the way we do things.
We won’t stop- We won’t stop praising. We won’t stop serving. We won’t stop surrendering to Gods desires. We won’t stop giving. We won’t stop praying. We won’t stop BEING. We’re just getting started!!! We are so grateful to be here in the heart of Bondurant trying our best to live and love like Jesus!!! We love because He first loved us- and what a beautiful and deep love that is.
You are so loved! Have a blessed week! Take a moment and just receive the love that God poured out for you through His son, Jesus- REALLY receive that!! Take all of that grace, forgiveness, goodness, mercy, hope- and let it nestle into your heart, your mind, your spirit- let it settle there and then live your life from the overflow that His love provides.
